2024 Fall Yard Waste Curbside Collection for City Residents Happening Three Thursdays in October City of Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The City of Leavenworth is launching its 2024 Fall Yard Waste Curbside Collection, providing a valuable service to residents on three Thursdays in October: the 10th, 17th, and 24th. Each household is allowed to set out a maximum of four bags or bundles of yard waste curbside by 6 a. m. on collection days, enhancing community cleanliness and sustainability. Acceptable materials include grass clippings, leaves, and small twigs, which must be contained in recyclable paper bags; plastic, wet, or torn bags will not be collected.

Each bag is subject to a weight limit of 35 pounds, ensuring safe handling by collection crews. Branches and limbs must be bundled and tied with biodegradable twine, with strict adherence to the four-foot length limit. Residents are also reminded that furniture, appliances, and construction debris will not be picked up as part of this service. For those who miss the curbside collection, drop-off options at local recycling centers are available, providing an eco-friendly alternative. This initiative not only supports residents in maintaining their yards but also contributes to the city's environmental goals.
