Detectives from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office joined a multi-agency task force in “Operation Liberty Lake,” focusing on suspected online child predators in the Spokane area. This operation, led by the Washington State Patrol’s Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, resulted in 13 arrests for various charges, including attempted child rape. Detective Sergeant Brian Lewis highlighted the ongoing commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations through collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies. The suspects arrested reside within driving distance of Chelan County, an area with a history of similar crimes. The sting operation reflects a growing concern about child exploitation online and the need for proactive law enforcement measures.
