ICCA to host inaugural Give a Hoot fundraiser

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The Icicle Creek Center for the Arts (ICCA) will host its inaugural Give a Hoot Art Walk on Oct. 11, inviting community members to engage in a mile-long event filled with live music and interactive art installations. Designed to promote physical health and social connections, the walk allows participants to explore at their own pace while enjoying hands-on creative stations. Executive Director Monica Miller highlighted the inclusive nature of the activities, which are suitable for all ages and abilities, with a sliding scale for participation fees to lessen financial barriers. Proceeds will directly support ICCA’s Visiting Artist Series, which brings performing artists from the Pacific Northwest into classrooms for demonstrations and workshops.

Scheduled from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. , the art walk features various activities, including watercolor painting and improvisation, led by featured artists such as Holly Thorpe and the Marlin Handbell Ringers.

Light refreshments will be available, and attendees can also bring a picnic or visit the new Lupine Market and Café. Those attending Oktoberfest later can park at ICCA, which is on the festival shuttle route. Miller expressed hope that participants will enjoy the event and feel encouraged to return in the future.
