A motorcycle accident near Stevens Pass resulted in the death of 68-year-old Donald R. Anderson and injuries to two others on Sunday at about 5:30 p. m. The Washington State Patrol reported that Anderson attempted an illegal U-turn on his motorcycle when he was struck by a motorhome driven by 75-year-old James L. Wheeler.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene, while Wheeler and his passenger, 76-year-old Patricia A. Wheeler, were transported to Cascade Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Authorities have not yet determined if impairment was a factor in the collision. This incident underscores the dangers motorcyclists face on busy highways. Motorcycle-related fatalities have been a growing concern in Washington State, prompting discussions about safety regulations.
