City of Leavenworth seeks input on traffic safety

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The City of Leavenworth is inviting residents to participate in a Transportation Safety Survey designed to enhance road safety. Survey participants can indicate areas where they have experienced close calls or feel unsafe while walking, biking, or driving. This input will inform a Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan, which aims to decrease roadway fatalities and serious injuries. The plan will prioritize safety projects based on community feedback and collision data, focusing on underserved areas. The initiative is funded by a $127,000 grant from the U.

S. Department of Transportation, with an additional $31,700 match from the city. The grant program, established by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, supports the goal of zero roadway deaths. The city signed the grant agreement in March 2024 and contracted Psomas to develop the actionable plan. Residents can access the survey at app.
