Generations reconnect at Peshastin-Dryden schools reunion

Graduates from Peshastin and Dryden High Schools reunited for a potluck at Peshastin-Dryden Elementary, reviving connections ahead of the new school year. Organizer Jean Foster Dennis expressed the joy of reconnecting with classmates and community members, highlighting the small-town ties that bind them. The annual reunion, which dates back to the 1950s, honors the legacy of schools that have closed. Notable attendees included Jean Nieman, who represented Dryden High School, and Darel Sax, a Peshastin High School graduate. Marilou Whaley Hughes, a long-time organizer, reflected on the importance of community camaraderie during these gatherings.

The event allowed attendees to share stories and memories, reinforcing the value of in-person interactions. Facebook and other social media platforms help maintain connections, but many participants cherish the unique experience of the reunions. This gathering reinforces the tight-knit nature of the Peshastin-Dryden community.
