Leavenworth, WALocal News

Firefighters contained a structure fire near the north shore of Lake Wenatchee on Monday morning, which involved buildings and a shop filled with fuels and equipment. Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue reported a plume of smoke at approximately 8:30 a. m. , with assistance from Chelan County Fire Districts 3 and 6. Firefighting efforts were bolstered by a K-Max pilot overhead, and by noon, the fire was reported contained, allowing for the cancellation of a Level 2 evacuation order for several nearby roads.

A GoFundMe was initiated to support the Dickinson family, who lost their shop in the fire, raising over $1,100 within hours. Organizer Emily Elkins emphasized the family's generosity and hard work within the community. The incident highlights the vulnerability of local businesses to fire hazards and the community's role in providing support during emergencies. The quick response from firefighters prevented further spread and damage. This event serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and community solidarity in recovery efforts.
