Chelan County voters decisively approved a $1. 40 levy per $1,000 assessed value for Fire District 6, with 71% backing, marking a historic first for the district. The increased revenue will address $10. 7 million in unmet needs, preventing potential service cuts. In a tighter race, Fire District 9's bond measure for $15 million to upgrade stations shows a narrow approval at 60.

2%, needing a 60% supermajority to pass. The bond aims to build a new central station and Emergency Operations Center, critical for managing public safety and wildfire responses. Supporters emphasize the bond's importance, while critics raise concerns about costs and the district's communication. The approval of Fire District 6's levy will bolster its annual budget to $750,000 and help resolve a deficit projected at $3. 52 million in six years.
