Gibbs Organic Farm celebrates 50 years of growing

Gibbs Organic Farm celebrated its 50th anniversary with a vibrant gathering that attracted over 300 members of the community in Leavenworth. Founded in 1975 by Grant Gibbs and Chris Rader, the farm has been a pioneer in organic farming and sustainable practices. Corky Broaddus, a family friend, highlighted Gibbs's dedication to mentoring new farmers and his role in the Tilth Alliance. The anniversary festivities featured local food, including over 350 hamburgers grilled by Ivan Gibbs, and products made from grains harvested on the farm. Attendees participated in games, storytelling, and a scavenger hunt, showcasing the farm's deep-rooted community connections.

Grant Gibbs expressed heartfelt appreciation for the support received over the years, emphasizing the joy of bringing friends together. The celebration not only marked a milestone for the farm but also underscored its lasting influence on local agriculture. Gibbs plans to continue operating the farm, ensuring its legacy in the community.
