WSDOT set to begin US-2 repaving near Coles Corner

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will repave US-2 near Coles Corner starting July 14, covering a stretch from milepost 78 to milepost 89. The project aims to resurface the driving lanes and perform bridgework at milepost 81, near Nason Creek. Travelers should prepare for single-lane closures and flagger-controlled traffic from 7 a. m. to 8 p.

m. on July 14. Beginning July 15, work will shift to night hours, running from 7 p. m. to 7 a.

m. , to reduce disruption from a slope-stabilization project at mileposts 60 and 98. WSDOT expects the repaving project to be completed by mid-October. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of critical transportation routes in the region. The repaving is crucial for safety and will prevent further deterioration of the highway.
