WVC students develop new control system to modernize Dryden Dam
Wenatchee Valley College students Dillon Cornelius and Juan Martinez unveiled a groundbreaking control system prototype at Dryden Dam on July 7. Their project aims to modernize the dam's operations, enhancing efficiency and safety. This innovative initiative is a collaboration with Chelan County Public Utility District, illustrating the college's dedication to practical engineering solutions. The students demonstrated how their system can streamline dam management and reduce operational risks, which is crucial for effective water resource management. This project aligns with broader efforts to upgrade aging infrastructure in the region.
By integrating modern technology, the students aim to improve not only the dam's operations but also its environmental impact. The local community stands to benefit from increased safety and efficiency in water management. Their work exemplifies the potential of academic partnerships to address real-world challenges.
