Community Foundation awards 31,800 in grants to youth-focused programs across NCW

The Community Foundation of North Central Washington awarded $31,800 in grants to youth-focused programs across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. The NCW Foundation for Youth Grant, established in 2017, allocates up to $1,000 for projects that serve local youth, with grants distributed every two months. This year's funding supports a variety of initiatives, including music and arts programs, outdoor recreation, and efforts to combat food insecurity. The largest grant, totaling $10,300, supported the "Shop with a Cop" initiative, which provides holiday assistance to children. Executive Director Beth Stipe highlighted the foundation's mission to empower organizations that create safe and supportive opportunities for young people.

Other recipients include the Thrive Chelan Valley Food2Schools program and the Wenatchee Jazz Association's youth workshop. The foundation maintains an open application process throughout the year, allowing for rapid response to community needs.
