Tumwater School District honors achievers in sports, performances

The Tumwater School District Board acknowledged exceptional student achievements in wrestling, dance, and music during a meeting on May 21. Sloane Kruger, a standout from Black Hills High School, was celebrated for winning the wrestling state championship with an undefeated record of 48-0. The Tumwater High School Dance Team, known as the T-Birds, achieved first-place finishes in three categories at the state competition, bringing their total to 35 state titles, a record in Washington. Superintendent Kevin Bogatin praised music students Fiona Tang and Gabriel Kendall for their impressive third-place finishes at the Washington State Solo & Ensemble contest. The district will distribute copies of the proclamations to the schools to recognize these accomplishments.

These honors not only celebrate student talent but also promote a culture of excellence within the district. The board's resolutions and reports reflect a commitment to supporting student achievements across various disciplines. Such recognition fosters motivation and sets a standard for future students.
