Wanted felon arrested at apartment complex in Tumwater

George Koboum Kim, 47, was arrested on September 28 at Suncrest Apartments in Tumwater during a police patrol prompted by reports of criminal activity. Officers found him in a 2011 black Lexus sedan with both front doors open, along with another man. After providing a false name and date of birth, police confirmed Kim's identity and discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant for escape from the Department of Corrections. During the search, officers seized around 4 grams of methamphetamine, forged $20 bills, a fake driver's license, and over $900 in cash. Kim faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and forgery.

The original charge linked to his warrant was for taking a motor vehicle without permission, compounded by a prior conviction for identity theft. This arrest reflects the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to address criminal activity in the Tumwater area. Police will continue to increase patrols to ensure community safety.
