Woman arrested for alleged crime at Walmart in Tumwater

Tumwater, WALocal News

Ashley Gimbert, 25, faces charges of second-degree burglary and obstructing a law enforcement officer after her alleged theft at Walmart in Tumwater on September 2. Store staff reported her concealing items in a duffel bag before exiting without payment. Officers searched the area but initially could not locate her. Later, they found her at a bus stop, but she ran away again, leading to a brief pursuit before her arrest. During the arrest, one officer suffered a dog bite, and the dog was taken into care by animal services.

After claiming she had ingested fentanyl, Gimbert was evaluated at a local hospital before being booked. Authorities noted that she had a previous trespass order banning her from all Walmart locations due to an earlier theft. This prior order elevated her charges to second-degree burglary rather than theft.
