Nighttime Interstate 5 ramp closures planned between Maytown and Tumwater

Nighttime closures on northbound Interstate 5 ramps between Maytown and Tumwater will occur from August 18 to 22, prompting motorists to allow extra travel time. The Washington State Department of Transportation's contractor crews will repave road sections and conduct drainage repairs. Single lane closures will begin at 6 p. m. , with I-5 reduced to a single lane by 10 p.

m. All lanes will reopen by 6 a. m. the following day, except for Saturday when they reopen at 9 a. m.

The northbound I-5 on-ramp from eastbound Trosper Road Southwest will close nightly during the same period. A signed detour will guide drivers to the nearest available ramp. The work schedule is subject to change, and officials advise motorists to plan ahead for potential delays. These improvements aim to enhance road safety and infrastructure for the growing traffic in the region.
