Man arrested for alleged bank fraud in Tumwater

Mark Lee Blevin, 59, was arrested in Tumwater for attempting to withdraw $9,000 from Twinstar Credit Union with a counterfeit Colorado driver’s license. Staff reported him after he matched a description related to earlier fraudulent activities at the Centralia branch. Officers discovered Blevin with fake identification, bank cards, and a Social Security card under another name. Initially, he provided a false name but later confessed his true identity to the police. Blevin claimed another man, James, orchestrated the plan and supplied him with the counterfeit documents.

He was arrested without incident and booked into the Thurston County Corrections Facility. The case highlights ongoing issues with bank fraud in the region, prompting increased vigilance among local financial institutions. Blevin now faces serious charges, including identity theft and forgery.
