Vote yes on Ohio Issue 2

Toronto, OHLocal News

Ohio voters will decide on May 6 whether to approve Issue 2, which aims to renew and increase the state's public works spending cap. If passed, the measure will raise the limit to $250 million annually for ten years, enabling local governments to maintain critical infrastructure. Since 1987, the Local Public Infrastructure Bond Amendment has successfully funded over 19,000 projects across the state. State Sen. Brian Chavez advocates for the proposal, noting it does not impose new taxes on residents.

The rising costs faced by contractors necessitate this increase to ensure ongoing maintenance of essential services. Many Eastern Ohio residents can already identify local projects that require funding. This ballot initiative underscores the importance of local investment in infrastructure. Voters are encouraged to support Issue 2 to help sustain their communities.
