Four seeking three Toronto Council seats
Toronto citizens will cast their votes Tuesday for three at-large City Council positions, choosing among four candidates. Incumbents Michael Burkey, Lawrence Glenn, and Ron Holmes are joined by Gregory Thornberry, who is running as a write-in candidate. Burkey, a construction manager with 24 years at BrandSafway Industries, advocates for responsible tax use and infrastructure projects if re-elected. Glenn, who operates Total Transportation LLC, aims to foster teamwork among city officials and prioritize financial stability. Holmes, a council member for 32 years, focuses on preserving quality of life and promoting business retention.
Thornberry has not responded to requests for campaign information. The election reflects varied visions for Toronto's governance, with candidates presenting distinct priorities and experiences. Voter turnout will be crucial in determining the future direction of the council.
