President Donald Trump commended Pennsylvania's energy sector during the inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit, revealing plans for over $90 billion in investments in energy and artificial intelligence. The funding will finance projects such as expanding gas pipelines and developing data centers, with GE Verona pledging $90 million to enhance a power grid equipment manufacturing plant in Charleroi, creating 250 new jobs. Trump attributed these advancements to a commitment to American energy dominance, while Pennsylvania U. S. Sen.

Dave McCormick highlighted the state's unique position as the second-largest energy producer. Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, joined McCormick in a panel discussion, stressing the importance of collaboration amid political differences. The summit underscored the necessity of fortifying the electrical grid to meet the demands posed by AI advancements. Jim Welty of the Marcellus Shale Coalition emphasized the intersection of national security and the AI race, advocating for Pennsylvania's natural gas resources. Trump also touched on personal experiences, including a recent assassination attempt and criticized the energy policies of President Joe Biden.

The investments signal a significant commitment to bolstering both the energy and technology sectors in Pennsylvania.
