On February 15, the Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) celebrated its 27th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration in Tacoma, featuring India as the showcased country. The event drew thousands, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with cultural exchange and unity. Washington State Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck highlighted the sensory experiences of the festival, stating it was a glorious celebration of cultural diversity. Lua Pritchard, the APCC Executive Director, expressed gratitude for the community's support, emphasizing the event's significance for the Asia Pacific community. The celebration included a lively Parade of Nations, where national anthems were performed, and traditional dances captivated the audience.

Consul General of India in Seattle, Prakash Gupta, acknowledged the importance of showcasing Indian culture and fostering connections within Washington State. As APCC founder Patsy Surh O’Connell noted, the event symbolizes the essence of America: a celebration of unity among diverse cultures. The Lunar New Year Celebration not only honors traditions but also strengthens community ties and mutual respect.
