Bridge Work to Bring SR 202 and 203 Lane Closures in Fall City and Carnation Starting May 12

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

Travelers on State Routes 202 and 203 in Fall City and Carnation will face weekday single-lane closures from May 12 to May 22, affecting traffic from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. The closures will occur at several locations, including SR 202 near Southeast 46th Street and SR 203 at 324th Way Northeast.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has contracted crews to carry out the bridge work, which involves installing fencing and sealants on three newly built bridges. These bridges have been constructed to replace culverts that previously blocked fish passage, enhancing local ecology. Flaggers will be present to alternate traffic during the construction periods. Real-time travel information will be accessible through the WSDOT mobile app, Travel Center Map, or email updates. This project reflects ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure while considering environmental impacts.

Safe passage for aquatic life is a priority, aligning with broader ecological restoration initiatives in the region.
