Edmonds SNOKING AAUW awards 12,000 in scholarships

On June 7, 2025, Edmonds SnoKing AAUW awarded $12,000 in scholarships to six young women during a ceremony at Edmonds College. Each scholarship, valued at $2,000, supported the educational pursuits of students from local high schools and colleges. Recipients included Truc nhi Truong from Everett High School, Lucia Garcia-Mendez from Edmonds College, and Camille Orego from Washington State University Everett. Kristy Thien Ly Ho from Cascade High School was unable to attend the event. The organization raises funds year-round for their AE3 Foundation, which focuses on empowering young women through education.

This initiative highlights the importance of community support in fostering academic success. The scholarships not only alleviate financial burdens but also inspire recipients to pursue their educational goals. By investing in the future of these students, Edmonds SnoKing AAUW plays a pivotal role in promoting higher education within the community.
