Shoreline, WALocal News

The Parkwood Neighborhood Association aims to restore a mural at Twin Ponds Park on Sunday, June 8, 2025, after it was defaced with graffiti. The mural, designed and painted by artist Michiko Tanaka in September 2015, represents community art efforts. Volunteers are invited to join the restoration process, which begins at 3 PM, emphasizing community engagement in local art preservation. The parking lot for Twin Ponds Park is conveniently located at the southwest corner of N 155th & 1st Ave NE. This restoration effort allows residents to actively participate in enhancing their public spaces.

Maintaining the mural is crucial for the park's aesthetic appeal and serves as a reminder of the neighborhood's commitment to art. Local art initiatives like this contribute to the cultural identity of the area. Community support will help ensure the mural reflects the spirit of the Parkwood Neighborhood.
