LFP Rotary honors eleven Shorecrest students

The Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park recognized eleven Shorecrest High School students with $1,000 scholarships on May 28, 2025, highlighting their commitment to community service. The celebratory program took place at Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church, attended by family members and school officials, including Superintendent Susana Reyes. Students showcased their volunteer efforts in applications submitted earlier this spring, focusing on aiding vulnerable populations and mentoring peers. The Rotary Scholarship Committee, led by co-chairs Jill Brady and Silje Sodal, selected recipients based on their exemplary service. Many awardees were also involved in Interact, Rotary's service club for high school students.

The scholarships aim to support students' higher education costs as they transition to the next chapter of their lives. Rotary, founded in 1905, has a mission to enhance global understanding and peace through service initiatives. The Club expressed pride in honoring these students, who embody the motto "Service Above Self.
