Lake Forest Park Police donate unclaimed bikes to WheelLab

Shoreline, WALocal News

On April 8, 2025, Lance Latimer, founder of WheelLab, collected over 20 unclaimed bikes from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. These bikes were either found or stolen and were waiting for a new home. WheelLab, a 501c3 nonprofit, provides bike programs for children, allowing them to learn valuable skills. Latimer's love for bikes began in his childhood, when he enjoyed disassembling and rebuilding them. The donated bikes will be cleaned, tuned, and refurbished to ensure they are safe for use.

This initiative not only supports children in need but also engages local youth in hands-on work within the program. The community response highlights the importance of accessible cycling opportunities for children. For further details, interested individuals can check WheelLab's website.
