Shoreline, WALocal News

The Shoreline Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services/Tree Board invites youth aged 15 to 19 to apply for a non-voting position for the 2025/2026 academic year. Applicants must be Shoreline residents, and the Board consists of seven adult members and two non-voting youth members. Meetings are held monthly from January to October and once in December, allowing for both in-person and online attendance. Each member receives $50 per meeting attended, providing a small incentive for participation. Interested candidates can fill out an online application or pick up a paper form from the City Clerk’s Office.

The online application deadline is June 8, 2025, while paper applications must be returned by June 6, 2025. This position gives youth a platform to influence local decisions on parks, recreation, public art, and tree management. The City Council and Board members encourage youth involvement for a more diverse perspective in community decision-making.
