Honoring moms by showing up to stand up - 50 protest on Mother's Day
More than 50 people protested at the Shoreline/Edmonds line on Mother's Day to highlight the adverse effects of President Trump's tariffs on vulnerable populations. Organized by Everyday Activists, participants included mothers who rushed over after brunch with their children and collectively donated 30 pounds of food to the Hopelink food pantry. Indivisible Shoreline provided resources and engaged attendees about their mission to mitigate the administration's impact and advocate for change by 2026. The group plans additional sign-waving events at the intersection of Aurora Ave. North and N 205th St.
on Sundays throughout May. A nationwide "day of action" is scheduled for June 14, aligning with President Trump's birthday, which will feature a military parade. This initiative aims to honor the U. S. flag, military personnel, and democratic values.
The community's active participation underscores the growing concern over economic policies affecting families, seniors, and veterans. Local advocacy groups continue to mobilize efforts to address these pressing issues.
