Shoreline Community College will host Emergency Preparedness 101, a three-session course starting on May 13, designed to enhance residents' disaster readiness. Instructor Michael Boehm will lead the sessions, which will cover how to assess regional risks and create adaptable emergency plans. The course, priced at $99, will occur from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Room 1402 of the SL014 building and will run until May 27. Participants will learn to build emergency kits with purpose, focusing on both natural and man-made disasters. This course aims to alleviate fears by providing actionable steps for preparedness.

As natural disasters increase in frequency in the Pacific Northwest, the need for effective emergency planning becomes more critical. Limited spaces are available, prompting potential attendees to register promptly. The initiative reflects a community effort to foster resilience and safety among residents.
