Shoreline PE teacher Lori Henry is being inducted into the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame
Lori Henry, a prominent figure in women's soccer, will be inducted into the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame. During her tenure at the University of North Carolina, she played a crucial role in securing three NCAA championships and was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1987. Additionally, she was selected to the All-NCAA Tournament team in 1988. As a captain of the U. S.
national women's soccer team, she was part of the original squad that won the World Cup in 1991, marking a significant moment in women's sports history. Henry played 39 international matches for the U. S. before retiring in 1991 and earned a spot on Soccer America’s All-Decade Team of the 1980s. She later served as the first women's soccer head coach at Ohio State University before returning to her roots as a P.
