Native Pollinators Garden Habitat May 17, 2025 at Kruckeberg Botanic Garden

Julie O'Donald will lead a workshop on creating supportive habitats for native pollinators on May 17, 2025, at Kruckeberg Botanic Garden in Shoreline, WA. The event, scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, costs $25 for members and $45 for nonmembers, with pre-registration required due to high interest. O'Donald, a Backyard Wildlife Habitat Steward, will cover key native plants and habitat features, starting with an indoor presentation before transitioning outdoors for a garden tour. With over 30 years of experience, she emphasizes the use of native plants to benefit wildlife. Her garden has been highlighted in multiple publications, including Pacific Horticulture and Sunset magazine.

Notably, the Western bumble bee, Bombus occidentalis, was observed in her garden in 2012 and 2013. Participants should dress for all types of weather, as the indoor activities involve stairs. This workshop aims to educate the community on enhancing local biodiversity through gardening practices.
