August King County Park Levy would fund new parks, trails, and pools

A proposed King County Parks Levy aims to raise $1. 45 billion over six years, with a vote scheduled for August. The levy includes $5 million to improve the Interurban Trail connection between Shoreline and Edmonds, addressing current safety concerns for pedestrians and cyclists. Shoreline plans to allocate $5 million for a new community pool, following a previous failed attempt to fund an aquatics center. Lake Forest Park will receive $4 million for a planned 3.

3-acre park on Lake Washington, enhancing public access to the waterfront. Kenmore intends to use $15 million from the levy for waterfront property acquisition, complementing an $8 million grant for a future park. Additionally, Bothell would receive $1 million for a Skatepark and Pump Track project. The proposed levy would cost median homeowners approximately $16. 33 monthly.

Approval is critical for advancing these recreational improvements in the region.
