Richmond Beach blood drive Saturday, May 3, 2025

Shoreline, WALocal News

Richmond Beach will host a vital blood drive on May 3, 2025, as local hospitals face a significant shortage of blood donations. Each day, hospitals in the Pacific Northwest require 1,000 volunteers to ensure an adequate supply for surgeries and cancer treatments. Alarmingly, fewer than 3% of eligible individuals participate in blood donation efforts. Regular donations, up to six times a year, are essential for maintaining lifesaving transfusions for seriously ill patients. Donating blood takes less than an hour and can save a life, making participation crucial.

Interested donors can schedule appointments by calling 1-800-398-7888, as time slots are limited. The Bloodmobile will be located at Firehouse #62 in Shoreline from 9 AM to 3 PM. This initiative not only addresses immediate healthcare needs but also fosters community involvement in health and wellness.
