The Northwest Folklife Festival will take place at Seattle Center from May 23-26, 2025, marking the start of Seattle’s summer festival season with over 500 performances on 26 stages. This year's festival centers around "Ikigai," a Japanese concept that encourages finding purpose and meaning in life. To promote inclusivity, the festival introduces two All Ages Beer Gardens, allowing families to enjoy activities and performances together. Artistic Director Benjamin Hunter highlighted the festival’s importance as a celebration of humanity amid societal challenges. The comprehensive program guide details a variety of performances, workshops, and cultural events, available at libraries and community centers throughout Seattle.

Attendees can expect an expanded Makers Space, a fashion show, and diverse culinary offerings from over 40 food vendors. While the festival is free, a suggested donation of $20 per person supports its continuation and year-round programming. The full schedule and volunteer opportunities are available online, with updates shared on social media.
