The Lake Forest Park Water District is set to celebrate Earth Day with its annual Plant Exchange Kick-off on April 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This beloved community event, which started in 2019, invites residents to share their gardening bounty with one another. Participants can join the exchange from April through September, bringing in divided plants to contribute to the community's gardening efforts. To ensure a successful exchange, all donations should be clearly tagged, placed in pots, and should not include any invasive or noxious weed species. The event fosters a spirit of generosity among residents, reflecting Lake Forest Park's strong gardening culture.

Attendees can find a variety of plants available, including the Coast Black Gooseberry and new offerings for 2025, such as the Clustered Wild Rose. The guidelines are designed to promote responsible gardening practices while encouraging community engagement. This initiative not only supports local biodiversity but also strengthens community ties through shared interests in gardening and sustainability.
