Mitsui O. S. K. Lines (MOL) has chartered a cutting-edge 78,300 GT pure car and truck carrier, which is owned by Shoei Kisen, emphasizing a commitment to sustainability in maritime transport. Completed in late November 2024, this vessel, flying the flag of Panama, measures 199.

9 meters in length and 38 meters in beam. It is designed to operate using environmentally friendly LNG as fuel and is equipped with a high-pressure dual-fuel engine, setting a new standard for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in international shipping. With its advanced technology, the ship can achieve a significant 25-30% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional vessels. Additionally, it nearly eliminates SOx emissions and reduces NOx emissions by an impressive 80-90% through an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. According to Shoei Kisen, these innovations are crucial for contributing to a sustainable future in the shipping industry.
