Two people rescued during sailboat race

On March 8, 2025, a dramatic incident unfolded during a sailboat race off the coast of Edmonds, Washington, when two participants fell overboard. The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office was quick to respond, rescuing the man and woman from the water around 11:30 AM. Upon reaching Edmonds Marina, they were met by South County firefighters who promptly transported them to Swedish Edmonds hospital for treatment. One individual was reported to be in serious condition, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Thankfully, both were wearing life jackets, which likely mitigated the severity of their injuries.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with sailing and emphasizes the critical importance of safety gear.
