Mark Fraser McVeety, a prominent figure in the Shoreline community, passed away peacefully at the age of 46 following a courageous battle with cancer. He is remembered for his extensive humanitarian work, which began at age 16 with a mission to Kenya to aid in malaria immunization. His career included significant contributions to global food aid initiatives, including the USAID mission to Myanmar, showcasing his commitment to humanitarian causes. McVeety was also instrumental in launching Quick-Start Shoreline, an entrepreneurial initiative that had a lasting economic impact. Beyond his professional achievements, he was known for his musical talents, exceptional culinary skills, and ability to bring people together through community events.

Friends and family are encouraged to continue his legacy by contributing to the Mark F. and Tiffany T. Student Fund at Shoreline Community College. A formal memorial service is scheduled for January 13 in Minneapolis, where many will gather to celebrate his life. His compassionate nature and dedication to service will be remembered by all who knew him.
