Scratched Out and Stitched Together - Gallery at Towne Centre

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Gallery at Towne Centre will host "Scratched Out and Stitched Together," an art exhibition featuring the works of Laura King and Tami Johnson, both distinguished art teachers from the Shoreline School District. This exhibition is set to run from April 3 to May 12, 2012, with an Open House Meet the Artists event on April 4 from 5-7 pm. Laura King's mixed media assemblages are inspired by her wedding dress and childhood experiences with sewing, while Tami Johnson's ceramics reflect her love for nature and bold design. The gallery is situated in the Lake Forest Park Town Center, which showcases handmade works by over 80 local artists. Proceeds from the gallery support the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, a nonprofit organization committed to nurturing the arts in the community through various programs and events.

This event not only highlights local artistic talent but also fosters community engagement in the arts. The exhibition serves as a platform for the artists to connect with the audience and share their creative processes. Attendees can expect an enriching experience that celebrates art, education, and local culture.
