Kenmore has appointed Peter Horvath as the new Chief of Police, effective May 24, 2018, following his tenure as Interim Chief since February. With a distinguished career spanning 26 years in law enforcement, Horvath has significant leadership experience, including roles in patrol, tactical, and detective operations. He leads a team of twelve officers dedicated exclusively to the City of Kenmore, enhancing the quality of local law enforcement. City Manager Rob Karlinsey commended Horvath's leadership style and his commitment to community-oriented policing, which aligns with the city's goals for public safety. In his remarks, Horvath emphasized the importance of community partnerships in proactively addressing local issues.

He succeeds Chief Cliff Sether, who was the first police chief of Kenmore after its incorporation in 1998, and the city expresses gratitude for Sether's long service. The hiring of Horvath marks a significant step in ensuring that Kenmore continues to have effective and professional law enforcement services. This transition in leadership reflects Kenmore's dedication to maintaining a safe and engaged community.
