Pinehurst Station project updates

Shoreline, WALocal News

The NE 130th Street Infill Station project in Seattle, approved by voters in 2016, is set to provide essential public transit access with a planned opening in 2026. The station will facilitate light rail service every 4 to 6 minutes during peak hours, connecting residents to key areas. Community involvement has been a cornerstone of the design process, ensuring the station reflects local preferences in aesthetics and functionality. The design incorporates elements that celebrate the neighborhood's natural resources, including art, seating areas, and sustainable landscaping. Renowned artist Romson Bustillo is creating site-specific artwork that aims to foster a welcoming atmosphere and enhance wayfinding for passengers.

Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2023, with ongoing updates available through an online open house. This project not only represents a significant investment in Seattle's infrastructure but also emphasizes the importance of community feedback in urban development. Residents are encouraged to stay engaged and informed about the project's progress.
