Thin Blue Line insurance ordered to stop operating in Washington state

Shoreline, WALocal News

Washington state Insurance Commissioner Patty Kuderer ordered Thin Blue Line Benefits to cease operations for selling unauthorized health insurance products in Washington. The Texas-based company, operated by Anna Reed and Guineth Reed, targeted members of the National Fraternal Order of Police. Kuderer’s office opened an investigation in July 2025 after receiving a complaint regarding the company's failure to process health insurance claims. A total of 41 complaints surfaced from retired state and local law enforcement officers voicing similar concerns. This ruling emphasizes the necessity of regulatory oversight to protect consumers from unlicensed insurance practices.

In a statement, Kuderer highlighted the need for accountability in the insurance industry. The decision also raises awareness about the risks posed by unauthorized health insurance providers. Regulatory actions like this are crucial in safeguarding public interests and ensuring compliance within the insurance market.
