Lake Forest Park's property tax measure stands at a pivotal moment, with "No" votes ahead by a mere 20 votes, equating to a 50. 18% lead as of November 11, 2025. The measure seeks to fund essential police and public safety services, yet the city has consistently rejected property tax increases in the past. Counting will extend until November 25, 2025, allowing for potential shifts in the vote as more ballots are processed. Historically, previous levies have faced significant opposition, with a 2010 measure failing by 78% and a 2021 measure failing by 65%.

Local measures do not trigger automatic recounts, but registered voters can request a recount within two business days of certified results. The cost for a recount is set at $0. 25 per ballot for manual recounts and $0. 15 for machine recounts. If a recount yields a different result, the requesting group receives a refund; otherwise, they must pay for the recount.

This situation highlights the ongoing struggle over funding for public safety in Lake Forest Park.
