Shorewood Cross Country competes at State Meet - Boys Team brings home a podium finish

Shorewood's boys cross country team achieved a historic second-place finish at the State meet, their best placement ever. Max Billett, Isaiah Schuelke, and Eli Graves finished in the top 35 of the 3A division, with Billett and Schuelke earning All-State honors. Isaiah Schuelke set a remarkable personal record, completing the 5k in 15:47. 2, a 14-second improvement from his previous best. The girls team also excelled, finishing 12th in the state, with Violet Koslowsky and Cleo Dalasta achieving personal bests.

This marks the third consecutive year that both teams qualified for the State meet, a feat not accomplished since 1984. Twelve Shorewood athletes will compete at the Nike Cross Regionals in Spokane this weekend, continuing their season. Coaches Paul Villanueva and Joel Reese expressed pride in the athletes' performances and dedication to representing the Shorewood community. The successful season highlights the growth and resilience of the Shorewood cross country program.
