SR 104Ballinger Way NE is back open

Shoreline, WALocal News

The reopening of SR 104/Ballinger Way NE on November 8, 2025, marks a crucial advancement in restoring fish passage on Lyon Creek. Crews replaced a 6-by-4-foot culvert with a new 24-foot-wide bridge, facilitating access to nearly 7. 5 miles of upstream habitat for native and migrating fish. This project is vital for local ecosystems, as it enhances the natural environment for aquatic species. Following this milestone, sewer work will commence on NE 185th Street and 35th Avenue NE, although no specific start date is available at this time.

After the sewer repairs, restoration and repaving of the streets will take place. The final paving and striping of SR 104, NE 185th Street, and 35th Avenue NE is scheduled for next spring, requiring a limited number of lane closures. This work is dependent on warm, dry weather to ensure the proper installation of asphalt layers. For ongoing updates, residents are encouraged to consult the project website and Real-Time travel map.
