Rotary Fundraiser to End Polio raises over a thousand dollars

On October 24, 2025, the Lake Forest Park community raised $1,233. 27 to support polio eradication during a fundraising event at the Lake Forest Bar & Grill. The event featured $367. 83 in cash and check donations collected at the door, supplemented by $865. 44 contributed by the restaurant based on diners' spending.

This initiative marked a celebration of World Eradicate Polio Day and showcased the local commitment to global health. Funds raised will be sent to Rotary International, which plays a critical role in the global fight against polio, especially in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the only two countries still battling the disease. Jacquelyn Luecken, the catering manager, and the staff received special thanks for their efforts. The event not only raised funds but also fostered community spirit and awareness around the importance of service. This initiative reflects the ongoing impact of local fundraising efforts on global health challenges.
