WeatherWatcher Wind advisory in effect, with uncertainty

Shoreline, WALocal News

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, and southwest Snohomish County, effective Saturday from 5AM to 2PM PDT. South winds are predicted to blow at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 45 mph. These gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and isolated power outages could occur. In addition to the wind, rainfall of about half an inch to one inch is expected on Saturday, typical for this time of year in the region. Sunday is forecasted to bring a break in the rain, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 50s.

Meteorologists have indicated that while there is some uncertainty about the wind event's intensity, the chances of a significant windstorm remain low. Historical data shows that November is the rainiest month in the region, and atmospheric rivers frequently occur from late October through March. Last week, the average temperature was 46. 3°F, slightly below normal, and rainfall totals for October were just under the typical amount.
