WeatherWatcher Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service

Shoreline, WALocal News

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory for Shoreline and South Snohomish County, effective from 9 AM Saturday until midnight PDT. Southeast to southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph, are anticipated, potentially causing unsecured items to blow around and leading to some power outages. The advisory may extend into the early hours of Sunday due to a predicted surge in wind gusts. Rainfall has already exceeded one inch, with an additional inch expected by Sunday night, bringing the total close to the average for the month. Local officials note that gusty winds could result in more tree damage this early in the season.

The forecast models indicate that wind activity will peak around 1 PM and again near midnight. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor objects and exercise caution while driving. The weather station's website will display active alerts, ensuring residents stay informed about local conditions.
