Shorecrest girls win cross country Championship races in spite of heavy rain and winds

Shorecrest girls cross country team excelled at the WesCo Championships on October 25, 2025, winning both varsity and junior varsity races despite heavy rain and winds. The varsity race featured a senior runner who secured first place, while an impressive freshman took the junior varsity title. In contrast, the boys teams faced challenges, finishing 5th in varsity and 6th in junior varsity, marking the end of the junior varsity season. Many athletes achieved personal bests in the muddy 5K race, showcasing their determination and skill. The upcoming District 1 and 2 Championships will take place at Lakewood High School on November 1st.

The results from this meet will be critical in determining which athletes qualify for the State Championship on November 8th in Pasco. This event is significant for the athletes, as it could lead to state-level opportunities. The Shorecrest team's performance reflects their resilience and commitment to excellence in cross country racing.
