"Nature’s Repose," a two-sided concrete bench embellished with metal foliage by artist Melissa Cole, will be dedicated at Horizon View Park on October 25, 2025. The bench features mosaic animals and hearts created by approximately 70 local residents during a two-day workshop held this past August. This artwork is the second commissioned piece for the Lake Forest Park's collection, following the first piece installed in front of City Hall. The dedication ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM, welcoming community members to meet the artist and celebrate the project. The Lake Forest Park Garden Tour sponsors these community art initiatives, emphasizing local engagement and creativity.

The next Garden Tour is set for June 20, 2026, encouraging residents to participate in future projects. Local artists, like Cole, play a vital role in enriching the community's cultural landscape. Such initiatives foster a sense of pride and connection among residents, enhancing public spaces.
